 Hello Everyone, Over the last couple of months I have had a great experience working on this blog. In addition, this has been a wonderful learning experience and I can’t wait to see what the future in the sports industry holds. Thank you for everyone that has read each and every one of my post, I highly appreciate it. Though I do not plan on posting anything else anytime soon, I do plan on continuing to learn more about the sports industry and potentially posting on here again in the future.

Fair Play or Foul? The Gender Pay Gap in Sport

In the sports world where talent and commitment should be honored equally regardless of gender. Yet, for many years now the reality is that there is no equality in terms of pay in sports. According to Forbes , on average women earn about 16% less than men. WNBA fans were stunned when they learned that Caitlin Clark , a player for the Indiana Fever, will make around $76,000 in the first year of her contract. However, is it really that big of a shock? Sure she is named as one of the most collegiate players of all time but why wouldn’t she be severely underpaid by the WNBA? The gender pay gap in sports has been an ongoing issue for a long time now. This specific issue truly reflects inequality in the sports world. Lonzo Ball's Preseason Revival: 10 Points in Return From Injury

 After sitting on the sidelines for the past three years, Chicago Bulls player Lonzo Ball makes a return to the court. Ball was out of the game for three years due to a knee injury. After many surgeries, he's back on the court and played in a preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. In 2018, the basketball player tore his meniscus while he was a player for the Los Angeles Lakers. He ended up having a cartilage transplant in March of 2023. Ball dropped 10 points for the Bulls in just 15 minutes. He also had his first assist, block, and steal we last saw him on the court in Jan. 2022. Though Ball is back in the game, coaches do have him on a playing time limit. In his preseason game against Minnesota, he was only allowed to play for 16 minutes. Alyssa Thomas Slams Fever Fans for Alleged Racism After Playoff Win

 Star player of the Connecticut Sun, Alyssa Thomas speaks out about her experience with receiving racial comments from the Indiana Fever fan base. After yesterdays game between the Connecticut Sun vs. Indiana Fever ended with the Sun knocking out the Fever with a score from 81-87. Once the game was over, Thomas voiced her frustrations about the chaos that has been surrounded by this series between the Sun and the Fever. Thomas speaks up about her experience in the W.N.B.A thus far stating that in her 11 years of playing basketball, she has never received racial comments this bad like she has, from the Indiana Fever fan base. Head coach of the Sun, Stephanie White speaks out to the media in a call for an end to rising racism. White shares that throughout the years, we've seen racism, homophobia, sexism, etc. in our country but that does not make sports an exception.
